International Translation Day
Since several years September 30 is the International Translation Day, proclaimed by the UN General Assembly. This honors all translators and interpreters who make an important contribution to international understanding and world peace. This day is named after Saint Jerome, who translated the Old Testament from Hebrew into Latin. He is the patron saint of translators. This year the motto of the day of remembrance is "United in translation".
